Carbrook
was previously called Gramzow, a name of
German origin. The German name was
Anglicised during the First World War.
Carbrook is a rural area with many homes
located on acreage-size land. The Logan
River is a major feature of the suburb
and flows along the common border
between Logan City and Gold Coast City.
The river runs the length of Carbrook
and there are a number of recreational
areas, parks, boat ramps and a jetty,
that provide easy access to the river.
Another major feature of Cabrook is its
wetlands which attracts a variety of
bird-life. There is a primary school
located in Mount Cotton about five
minutes away as well as a number of
secondary schools nearby as well. The
closest shopping centre is located in
Loganholme eight minutes away. Residents
can acccess trains into Brisbane or the
Gold Coast via the Cleveland or
Beenleigh lines about 15 minutes away
